Year 5 and 6 2018/19
A warm welcome to Years 5 and 6!
We began our Autumn Term World War Two topic with an exciting impact day, where we got to experience life as evacuees! We participated in a range of educational activities, and had the chance to explore genuine WWII artefacts and try on real period clothing. We discovered the true meaning of community spirit and gained a memorable insight into what life was like for people in Britain during World War II. The children put a huge amount of effort into their costumes, which added to the experience even more!
Remembrance Day 2018
As well as being part of the Surrey Hill's remembrance service, we created paintings to show what remembrance means to us. By using brightly coloured watercolours, paints and dark card, we produced silhouette images to represent the end of the war. Our creativity really had the chance to shine through, and it was difficult for us to choose which ones to display on our school remembrance display board!
