We recognise the key role parents/carers have in their child’s learning and acknowledge that learning begins and continues in the home environment.
Parents/carers are welcomed into the school to learn more about their child’s progress and to celebrate their successes. There are numerous opportunities throughout the year (both formal and informal) to meet together and get to know each other. Meetings are arranged at a variety of times to enable as many parents as possible to attend.
Every term, there are 'drop in' sessions where you are invited in to your child's classroom to find out more about their learning . You will be informed of the dates in the weekly newsletter. You will also be invited into school for your child's class assembly, Christmas performance as well as for your child's class Parent Lunch.
Parent quote from a parent lunch "I came to the Bees parent lunch on the 20th April 2017 and I just wanted to feedback how friendly and helpful the lunch staff where on the day. I've been the last two years and just wanted to say what a nice idea it is and I hope it continues".
We are continually updating and improving our communication systems. The Headteacher sends home a school newsletter every Friday by Schoolcomms. These are also available on the Home page of the website. The Governors send an update every half term and F@SH (Friends of Surrey Hills) send a termly update too. All communications are sent by email unless requested otherwise.
