The children in Caterpillars and Bees are studying minibeasts and their habitats. They enjoyed making dens in the woods on Friday considering the factors their minibeast might require. Each group was given 2 tarpaulins, pegs and clamps and had to build their own home.

Ethan: ‘I’ve put some sticks and leaves on top so we’re camouflaged and the birds can’t see us!’

Arthur A: ‘We’ve made a doorway and a back door so we can escape!’

Maddie B: ‘We should have used the orange one as a carpet and the green one for the roof - then we would be camouflaged!’

Amelia: It’s lovely and dark and cosy just like the minibeasts want!’
