Parent Voice

1.  Both my children have been to Surrey Hills, one has just moved onto secondary and the other is in year 5. Both have had a lovely time at the school and i am completely happy with their time there. They are confident, read well and look forward to going to school.

2.  I now have three children at Surrey Hills and they all settled beautifully. The school has been so welcoming and supportive, looking after each child and treating them as an individual, whilst also instilling a really strong sense of community and shared values.
My children have friendships spanning across the year groups and a group of close friends in each of their classes too.
My eldest can be a bit ‘fidgety’ and the school have been a wonderful support, recognising from the outset that a small number of interventions would help - introducing them quickly to support my child with their learning and wider behaviours. They are taking huge leaps in their learning and really flourishing under the care of the teachers and support staff.
I can’t recommend the school highly enough.

3.  We have had two boys at Surrey Hills All Saints School, and having experienced the school over many years, we feel incredibly lucky that they have had the opportunity to grow up and learn in such a special environment. Our eldest has now moved on to secondary school and our youngest is in Year 5, so we have seen first-hand how the school has supported them through their primary years.

For us, one of the greatest strengths of the school is how genuinely nurturing it is. Every child is known as an individual, and there is a real sense that the teachers care about who they are, not simply what they achieve. Our boys have been encouraged to be kind, confident and curious, with strong values that extend well beyond the classroom.

The setting is another part of what makes the school so distinctive. Being a small village school surrounded by the beautiful Surrey Hills gives children a wonderful connection to nature and the outdoors. There is space to explore, opportunities to learn outside and a real appreciation of the environment around them. Forest School complements this beautifully, giving children the chance to experience the outdoors in a different way.

The close relationship with the village church also gives the school a wonderful sense of belonging. There is a genuine connection to the local community and a strong sense of shared values, which we feel is increasingly rare and incredibly valuable for children growing up today.

Over the last year or so, we have particularly loved seeing the range of enrichment and creative opportunities grow. There have been so many chances for the children to perform, express themselves and discover things they are good at beyond the traditional classroom. The talent show was a particular highlight for us — seeing the children getting up on stage, cheering each other on and being proud of what they could do was fantastic. Those are the experiences that build confidence and create memories that children carry with them.

There is something very special about a small school where everyone knows everyone, where children of different ages mix and support each other, and where individuality is celebrated. Our boys have been given the confidence to be themselves, to try new things and to believe in what they can achieve.

Surrey Hills All Saints is more than just a school to us. It feels like a community — a place where children are cared for, encouraged and given the space to grow into themselves. The combination of its nurturing ethos, strong values, village community and beautiful surroundings makes it a truly special place to spend those important primary school years.

4.  Surrey Hills All Saints Primary has been the most incredible and genuinely special welcome to school life for my whole family. As a single form entry Primary the school is small enough to feel personable and nurturing but with enough children and families to still be very sociable.

I have two children in the lower part of the school, so can only currently speak of the Early Years and KS1 settings, but they have both been fantastic. Our experience of joining school in Reception has been second to none and both my children settled quickly and calmly into school life with Mrs Lewis’s care and guidance. Mrs Dutton leads KS1 exceptionally well and the growth and development I’ve seen in my child during their time in her classroom has been truly incredible.

Moving up through the school we’ve continued to be impressed by all the staff we have encountered who are friendly, caring and put the children first. Miss Frost joining as Headteacher last year has only continued and improved this. The stability she has brought since joining and her focus on always putting the children first has been so welcome and has made the school even better than we thought was possible! All the staff know all the children and the inclusive community is so special.

5.  I truly couldn’t recommend Surrey Hills All Saints more. If you are looking for a school with strong values and education standards, community spirit and a truly caring environment then this is the school for you.
We checked a few schools in the area and have been thrilled since day one that we chose Surrey Hills. Super friendly, inspiring imagination and structured learning every day. Meeting the headteacher at the gate every morning to greet the children and always feeling welcome to stop for a chat is a wonderful, much appreciated addition!
